Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Chiropractic is a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend massage, acupuncture and therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises as well as to provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle counseling.

Who can benefit? Improved nerve communications between your brain and your body can help everyone. Modified adjusting approaches can help children, the elderly, and those with special needs. We often treat patients who have back and neck pain, headaches, or joint dysfunction or have been involved in a trauma, such as a fall or car accident.

How long will it take? Since chiropractic care depends on the healing abilities of each patient, results are hard to predict. Every patient responds differently. Some detect changes in a few short days or weeks.

Our office utilizes the benefits of massage therapy in our treatment plans. Massage therapy is covered by insurance when medically necessary. Recovery time is improved when our office uses the benefits of massage, rehabilitation stretches, and strengthening exercises.

Massage techniques include neuromuscular, trigger point, and fascia release techniques. Addressing the dysfunction is our primary concern when utilizing massage. Often, rehabilitative stretches, strengthening, and ergonomic suggestions are incorporated into our programs.

Acupuncture is a common alternative health practice that has been used worldwide for centuries with great success and safety.

Dr Parks was licensed through the North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2019.

Dr. Parks routinely completes continuing education courses in sports acupuncture and certifications, such as SAAT- Soliman Auricular Acupuncture Technique (in April 2024).These enable him to offer our patients the benefits of classical acupuncture that have been practiced for centuries, incorporated with modern variations that have proved their place in healthcare.
